Cultural Note: Like most Hindi numerals from eleven to ninety-nine, बारह (baarah) simply has to be memorized as its own word rather than built compositionally the way English does with 'twelve' from 'ten' and 'two'. You will meet it constantly in dates, ages, prices, and clock time (बारह बजे, baarah baje, 'twelve o'clock'), so it is well worth learning solidly early on.
