वग़ैरह (vaghairah)

adverb Placed after a list of nouns or phrases to indicate the list continues, e.g. 'सेब, केला, अंगूर वग़ैरह (seb, kelaa, angoor vaghairah, 'apples, bananas, grapes etc.')'. Often doubled as वग़ैरह वग़ैरह (vaghairah vaghairah, 'etc. etc.') for extra casualness.

Cultural Note: You will hear this constantly in bazaar chatter and casual storytelling -- someone listing groceries or errands will almost always trail off with वग़ैरह (vaghairah) rather than bother naming everything. Repeating it as वग़ैरह वग़ैरह (vaghairah vaghairah) is a very common, slightly dismissive way of saying 'and all that sort of thing.'
Common Mistakes: 1) Learners sometimes reach for आदि (aadi) in spoken conversation where वग़ैरह (vaghairah) sounds far more natural and everyday -- आदि (aadi) feels bookish or formal by comparison. 2) It comes at the end of the list, never at the start.
