ऐसे ही (aise hii)

Sense 2 : in this very way, exactly like this

adverb Here ही (hii) intensifies ऐसे (aise) to stress that the manner described is precisely the one meant, often pointing to something just shown or done.

Cultural Note: You'll hear this when someone is demonstrating something, like a mother telling a child रोटी ऐसे ही बेलो (rotii aise hii belo, 'roll the roti just like this') while showing the motion with her hands.

Cultural Note: Common in relaxed chit-chat about how someone spent their time -- ऐसे ही बैठे थे (aise hii baithe the, 'we were just sitting around') is a very Delhi way of describing an unplanned, lazy afternoon with friends over chai.

Common Mistakes: 1) This overlaps closely with sense 1 ('no reason') but leans more toward describing a low-effort or unserious activity rather than answering 'why' -- e.g. ऐसे ही घूम रहा था (aise hii ghoom rahaa thaa, 'I was just wandering around casually') describes the manner of the activity itself, not a justification for it.
